I've been doing keys sound design for over a decade now, and even now there's one part that never seems to get easier. I bet you won't guess what it is... but before I tell you, we have to go back a few years.
We recorded this strange, airy string instrument. A violin, but strung low with viola strings. The result was a really quirky, weird, string sound that I'd never quite heard before.
As we sampled it and brought these sounds into Sunday Keys, we weren't sure of where they'd 'fit'. But in the end that pack became one of the most loved we’ve ever released.
If you haven't guessed by now, I'm talking about Wispy Violin.
So what was most difficult part of the process? Giving it a name.
Side note, we actually misspelled 'Wispy' in the original release... That single 'Wispy Violin' release eventually turned into a whole family of wispy instruments, and we added a brand-new one that compliments the set in a really special way.
I've been using these a ton at my own church over the last couple months and now they're ready for your next worship set. Check it out in the video below, and go download the February 2026 update!
Hi guys and gals atSunday sounds.com. I purchased a Sunday Keys standard license back in October of 2025 then I upgraded to an ultimate license and since then I haven’t got any of the shared set lists David puts in the weekly Wednesday videos. Just wondering why that is and what’s going on with that? if you could help please. Thank you Jeff
