As a worship piano and keys player, there are moments when you just don't have time to prepare.

  • A song gets added at the last minute.
  • The worship leader extends a moment unexpectedly.
  • Someone asks you to play during communion, prayer ministry, or a baby dedication.

That's exactly why every worship keys player should have a "Ready For Anything" patch.

In this guide, we'll break down how to build a versatile worship keyboard patch in the Sunday Keys App. You'll learn all the sounds that make it work, and how you can create a single patch capable of handling virtually any moment during a church service.

Frequently Asked Questions

A worship keys patch combines multiple keyboard sounds, including pianos, pads, synths, organs, and effects into a single playable instrument designed for contemporary worship music.

How do worship keyboard players create huge sounds?

Most modern worship keyboard players layer multiple sounds together, including piano, pads, synths, and effects like shimmer reverb to make their patch sound huge.

What is the best worship keyboard patch for spontaneous worship?

A Ready For Anything patch is ideal because it allows players to move from soft prayer moments to large worship builds without changing patches, you can use the patch for any song or moment.

Ready for Anything Patch VS Song Specific Patches

Song Specific Patches are designed to match all the sounds and programming from the original song so you can load the Patch and be ready to focus on worship. Snapshots are programmed based on the song sections, like: "Verse, Chorus, Bridge, etc."

A 'Ready For Anything' patch can be used to effectively cover most worship songs and spontaneous ministry moments, without using BPM specific parts like sequences or arps. Snapshots are best programmed for moments, like: "Down, Medium, Big, All In."

David, at many points in this video, you tweak the Dry and Wet settings of a sound. As a musician rather than a sound engineer, I would really appreciate a tutorial video on what “Dry and Wet” is all about. I’ve had my guesses, of course, but I’d rather hear it straight. Ta!
