Subject: Help Needed: Unstable Audio Setup for iPad Music in Worship
Hi ,
I hope this email finds you well.
I’m writing to you because I’ve been encountering a persistent and frustrating issue with my iPad-based music setup during worship sessions, and I’m hoping you might be able to offer some guidance.
Here’s a quick rundown of my setup:
M2 iPad (running “Sunday key” app) Ugreen USB-C Hub (powered by an 85W Type-C supply) MIDI Keyboard (connected via USB-A from the hub) Vention 3.5mm TRS to Dual 6.35mm TS audio cable (for audio output)The problem is that while this exact setup works perfectly fine when I practice at home with a small amp, it becomes unstable during worship. After about two hours, the audio consistently disconnects, and I lose signal completely, no matter how many times I try unplugging and replugging the connections.
The only significant difference between my home setup and the church setup is how the audio is routed:
Home: iPad audio goes into an amp. Church: iPad audio goes into a DI box (and then to the mixer).I suspect the issue might be related to the DI box interaction, phantom power, or perhaps even my iPad overheating under sustained use in the church environment. I’m new to setting up audio for live performance, so I might be overlooking something crucial.
Would you be available at some point to take a look at my setup or offer some advice? Perhaps you have experience with similar issues or know what might be causing the disconnection. I’m happy to bring my gear in, or we could discuss it over a call.
Any help or insights you could provide would be greatly appreciated as I’m keen to ensure reliable sound for future worship services.
Thank you so much for your time and consideration.
Best regards,
Christina
