If you've been on your worship team for a while, you've probably been asked:
'Can you play something while the Pastor is wrapping up,'
or...
'We're going to pause for a time of prayer, can the keys fill some space under the prayer?'
These opportunities to come alongside and support your pastor from the keys can be powerful, but they can also be quite intimidating. They usually arise with limited guidance on what to play, or time to prep.
What if you play a wrong note?
When should you start to transition to the next song? (trust me, playing the intro to King of Kings for 8 straight minutes is not the move)
So what should you do?
We asked Isaac Rodriguez how he approaches this pivotal worship keys skill. Watch the video below to learn what to play under your pastor - chords and progressions. How to match the energy, feel, and vibe, and ways to transition to the next service element - going into a new song, chorus, etc.
