As a worship keys player, you're often asked to play songs in December that you wouldn’t perform any other time of year. This requires different types of sounds than what you would typically grab from your favorite go-to patches. This is a great time of year to make your keys sounds sparkly and fun!

Christmas albums often include sounds like french horns, cathedral organs, flutes and harps, different bell sounds, and even choral sounds.

These are all tones you can find inside your hardware keyboard, MainStage, Ableton, or other plugins! These types of nostalgic sounds are also great to incorporate into other worship songs during the month of December, even ones that aren't specifically Christmas songs! You might want to play an Advent hymn or a Christmas carol in a new way for your context, and being creative as you look for some of these types of sounds can really bring it to the next level!
