This video covers everything you need to know about the Studiologic SL88 Studio MIDI controller, including the pros and cons and if we recommend using it for playing worship keys.
We hope this video answers of the most common questions we get asked here at Sunday Sounds -which is, "what keyboard should I use?"
We typically recommend using the keyboard you already have; that's because 99% of keyboards in existence can be used as a midi controller - allowing you to bypass the built-in sounds and use a modern software based setup.
BUT, sometimes you'll find that it's time for an upgrade.
Maybe your older gear isn't reliable enough, or you're looking for an upgraded feel or level of control. If you do happen to be looking to purchase a new keyboard, you might consider the SL88 Studio.

Thinking about getting Sunday keys and my question is if I get the SL88 MIDI keyboard do I have to have Albertson Live or Main Stage 3 or can I use your Sunday keys to stand alone with my tablet that I currently have
Hi sundaysounds.com owner, You always provide in-depth analysis and understanding.
Thanks Dave for the review. Since I know you also played the Hammer 88 (I have the Hammer 88 Pro), I’d be interested in your thoughts on the keybed feel with both – which one would have the edge, or do you think they are at parity with each other?
Great review. I’ve got the SL73 Studio and I love it, namely for that clean top you mentioned.. One thing that I think is a huge underrated plus is the fact that it’s metal, which means, magnets work! So, I’ve got thin magnetic strips under all my small midi nano Controllers and they just sit firmly and exactly where I put them without any adhesives or velcro on the top of the keyboard. I even have nano key that sits vertically on the chassis under the bass keys to trigger pads and tracks if I need that capability without adding to the top surface or having to have another keyboard. Huge win.
