Setting up a midi-based keys rig is overwhelming. Perhaps because there's no one 'right' way to do it. With midi and software you can make your rig do whatever you want it to do (if you know how) - we're talking multiple stacked keyboards, hardware synths, redundant audio interfaces, and even the odd guitar pedal here and there.
But regardless of the specifics, there's some fundamental gear every keys rig needs. The stuff that should go with you every single time you play at church.
In this new video I break the gear that always goes in my bag whenever I'm scheduled at keys. Including a few pieces of backup gear that have saved me more than once.
The Gear
Computer - MacBook Air with Apple M1 Chip, 16GB RAM
Power - Furman Power Conditioner
Midi Controller - Korg NANOKONTROL 2

My bag is nearly the same. I carry around a few USB-A to USB-C adapters just in case.
